Lit To Shoot New Video For "Titan A.E."
Lit is scheduled to shoot a video Thursday in Manhattan Beach, California for a song that the band wrote specifically for the soundtrack to the upcoming animated film "Titan A.E."
The new song, "Over My Head," was written by Lit and produced by Glen Ballard (Alanis Morisette, No Doubt). The video will be directed by Mark Gerard (Aaliyah, Babyface) and will feature the members of Lit performing against a backdrop of the animated celestial universe of "Titan A.E." Throughout the clip, the bandmembers will dodge enemy attacks and even interact with some of the "Titan A.E." animated characters.
"Music From The Motion Picture Titan A.E." also features Powerman 5000, Fun Lovin' Criminals, Texas, The Urge, Splashdown, and the now-defunct Luscious Jackson. The soundtrack was produced by Glen Ballard and is due on June 6th.
"Titan A.E." features the voices of Matt Damon, Drew Barrymore, Bill Pullman, and Janeane Garofalo and hits theaters June 16th.
Lit is also slated to perform at the movie's premiere on June 13.
No Doubt Lines Up Summer Tour
After hitting clubs for a brief outing that kicked off last month, No Doubt will launch a two-month, full-scale North American tour this summer.
While many stops along the way have yet to be announced, the band has confirmed that it will get things rolling on June 5 at Dallas' Starplex Amphitheater with opening acts Lit and Black Eyed Peas. Gwen Stefani and company will then stay on the road through the summer before wrapping up in early August.
The road trip comes in support of the band's latest effort, "Return Of Saturn," which hits stores on Tuesday bringing with it the influence of days gone by.
"It was inevitable that all that '80s stuff was going to creep into our sound," bassist Tom Kanal told MTV News of the new album's decidedly retro influence. "It was always percolating here and there but it really came out in this record. It was the backdrop to our lives. We embraced the '80s, as opposed to some other bands that might be scared of it. We embrace the cheesiness that was the '80s. There's some real beauty in it."
If you want to embrace the cheesiness, here's how the band's itinerary shapes up so far:
6/9 - Atlanta, GA @ Tabernacle (on sale 4/15)
6/11 - Charlotte, NC @ Blockbuster Pavilion (on sale 4/14)
6/12 - Virginia Beach, VA @ GTE Virginia Beach Amph. (on sale 4/15)

Lit, Slipknot, Others May Tribute Twisted Sister
Lit, Slipknot, Sevendust, and Kittie are among the early names being kicked around for an upcoming tribute album saluting glam-gone-awry rockers Twisted Sister.
According to Twisted Sister guitarist Jay Jay French, Type O Negative, Anthrax, and Mötorhead are also among those who have expressed interest in revisiting the band's catalog for an album that should see the light of day in late fall or early winter on Koch Records.
"We're like Cher and cockroaches... we never go away," French told MTV News of the project. French said that Lit has expressed interest in "I Wanna Rock" and Sevendust would like to tackle "SMF," but adds that the album's lineup and details regarding it have yet to be hammered out. He did note that Motörhead has already recorded Twisted Sister's "Shoot 'Em Down" for the album.
French also said that Twisted Sister itself will be contributing a track as well, though he noted that it will be the only band to not kick in a TS song for the album. He told MTV News that the band rehearsed together over the weekend and will likely cover AC/DC's "Sin City" for the project. "We used to do that one back in our club days," the guitarist explained.
While Twisted Sister recorded a "reunion" track for the soundtrack to frontman Dee Snider's film "Strangeland" in 1998, French noted that the band members recorded their parts during different sessions and never actually shared a studio. As a result, last weekend's rehearsal marked the first time that the band had played together in 14 years.
